Approaching his favorite table of the only Inn at their training ground in central Vietnam Hô Ngoc Ngoc saw that his table was already in use. 6 riders he hadn't met before were sitting there having a feast.
Slowly he continued his walk and tried to find a nearby table when he heard a shout. "Hey Ho, come here and join us. We are celebrating". One of them said. He seemed to be the eldest of the group, at least by a few years.
"This is Hô Ngoc Ngoc" said the leader of the group. "He is the latest trainee of our team, and currently undergoing the experimental new training methods the boss wants to test". Laughingly he added "All because you guys were to lazy to reach your true potentials".
One man started to get angry at this remark and exclaimed "Be careful what you say Lâng Huu Tung, did we not just made this feast happen for you?" "Did our hard work not finally give everyone a full outfit arranged by our team? And this is the thanks we get. Hmpff."
The leader, now known to us to be Lâng Huu Tung kept laughing and said "Haha, sit down Hô. And Que do not worry I will not forget your hard work, delivering you the Odyssey of the Oryx jerseys and us the bib shorts. But besides you, none here reached their potential, myself included. Luckily from next season I'll be there to make sure that won't happen to you Hô!"
"What?" Said the others, taken by surprise. "How will you be able to help that lad out, will you not be riding with us?"
"No my friends he replied, an official party will come, but I'm stopping as a rider. Giap Nam Mien and Duong Tân Thang are capable enough to replace me in the hills, while Vo Quang Duong will try to take over Wang Tuan Lam's part in the mountains."
"Wangs dream to get on the Kenny Haakon list is to be one of the goals in the next two seasons I've heard from our manager. He has deserved as much, being the first captain of this team delivering already 18 wins".
"I'll be a trainer to the team, so don't worry. I'll still be here telling you every time that you didn't fulfill your potentials. Lazy bums! Even Wang, he is probably the worst of all of you"
"Good that you will stay with the team old man" said Que and the others nodded in agreement. "We have always appreciated your help in the races, but we will have to throw a huge party before you really quit racing"
"That's easy for you to say" said another who had just walked into the Inn and was joining the group. Everyone made some space for this newcomer, who seemed to have a natural flair to talk to groups of people.
"You will not be racing for a a third of the season and call it necessary. If it weren't for your jerseys I'd ask the boss to put you in that new program too". Que replied "Well Wang, as you know being my senior by 4 years, that resting is a formidable way of training".
"I've never had to rest to get my victories. But then again I do not have any jerseys or trophies to show for it." said Wang in his turn then continuing. "Welcome Hô! As Que said rest is a good training, so I've heard you will be taking my place in next years Race of the Minutemen if you listen well enough to Huu. And support Que in his quest to a third jersey there.
I hope you will enjoy your time at the team and become one of the greats". Blushing after these remarks Hô said: "Thanks for all the kind words, but I'm not sure yet what role I will be able to play in the future of OCM. Let alone get at the same level as you two. For now let's toast at Que's victory in Odyssey of the Oryx, his Race of the Minutemen Victory and our teams best season results and victories wise!"
"Cheers" everyone replied. "And to bib shorts!" shouted Huu. "To bib shorts!" cried everyone.

Amazing season from Hong. He should have a go at Volta ao Porto before he hangs up his bibshorts.
haha Ho is the new captain. Lang Huu Tung will go for retirement day 1. Que is the tour captain and Wang is/was my hill captain. He has mostly been busy supporting Que lately in his CL tours.
Congrats on a great season and the dominating in Namibia.
Lost me a bit in the namedropping there :)
